Fireproof doors
Our standard ledged and framed round doors can be supplied
as fire doors by the application of a clear intumescent
coating applied in our workshop.
This
provides 60 minutes of fire protection on 20mm thick timber
(our doors are 22mm thick).
Certification
will be provided to confirm that doors comply with Class 1
of Building Regulations

Internal oak plank doors
Solid oak plank doors for internal use are handmade in our
workshops as a bespoke service. The doors typically have 3
to 6 random width vertical planks. Doors are fitted with
three thick (34mm) horizontal ledges screwed to the rear which are
concealed by oak plugs. Fronts of doors can be finished with
steel old fashioned style rose head nails. Diagonal braces
can be fitted at extra cost.
Doors are sanded and ready for fitting and finish. However
fromoak ltd is able to offer a finishing service with
additional sanding and two coats of wax oil and rubbing down
with wire wool to improve the finish - please see our price
list for prices.
Doors can be French polished for a more mature look-see the
picture (top right above).
Internal doors are manufactured from air and kiln dried
European oak. fromoak ltd is committed to ensuring that your
doors are delivered on time and at a reasonable price.
Planks are 22mm thick tongue and grooved and bead jointed.
The ledges are normally 34mm thick and 130mm deep and have
chamfered edges.
Feature doors are available with glass panels including
reclaimed leaded, plain, stained and obscured lights, modern
laminated or toughened glass inserts.
Doors are tested for moisture content as they leave our
workshops. Doors should be stored prior to hanging in dry
conditions and not subjected to excessive heat immediately
after delivery.
Occasionally at fromoak ltd we are fortunate enough to source
reclaimed pine and new elm boarding specifically for door
manufacture. Please ask us about availability and prices.
